BSUIN project was presented at two conferences.
The BSUIN project was presented at the 45th Congress of Polish Physicists in Krakow (Poland), September 13-18, 2019. The Congress is organized every two years in Poland. About 600 scientists from various branches of physics and related fields, physics teachers, representatives of industry and institutions financing research and their implementation, students and amateurs – physics enthusiasts participated. They presented the most important scientific achievements of recent years.
During the Congress, sessions devoted to interdisciplinary research combining physics with biology, chemistry, medicine, electronics, nanotechnology, materials engineering, computer science and other fields were organized. Scientific research can be applied to various areas of industry, therefore a special session “Physics-Industry-Innovation” was oraganized to joint activities of scientists and entrepreneurs in the field of research and development of new technologies.
The BSUIN project and results of the measurements of natural background radiation in Reiche Zeche mine (TU-Freiberg’s Research and Education Mine “Reiche Zeche” (Germany)) and Callio Lab (Pyhasalmi/Finland) were presented during oral presentation by Katarzyna Szkliniarz at the session: Environmental Physics.
The BSUIN project also was presented at the Seventh International Conference on Radiation in Various Fields of Research. The Conference was took place on June 10-14, 2019 in Montenegro and brought together scientists and other participants from around the world. On the conference about 450 talks were presented.
The BSUIN project and results of the measurements of natural background radiation in Reiche Zeche mine (TU-Freiberg’s Research and Education Mine “Reiche Zeche” (Germany)) was presented (oral presentation) by Jan Kisiel during the talk entitled: “Natural radiation background measured within the BSUIN (Baltic Sea Underground Innovation Network) project”.
The main goal of both presentation was to increase the visibility of the BSUIN network and to present results of the NBR measurements in BSUIN Underground Laboratories. The huge potential of the BSUIN project for future cooperation and research was communicated to the community, as well.
